Caesar's Palace in Vegas is a beautiful casino, but is hiding a very terrible experience underneath it. I believe that the pricing is ridiculous for what you are getting. My last experience at Caesar's was what took me over the edge.
Last year, my mom decided that she wanted to meet up with her family that was going to Vegas for Chinese New Year and me and my wife went along with her. The one thing that my mom wanted to do on this trip was go to the Bacchanal Buffet, because she had heard that it was the best on the strip. This is where everything went downhill.
We arrive at the buffet and see that there is a really long line. We were told that you could get a ticket to return later if you put your name into the queue. First off, the queue was really ridiculous to figure out. We had a larger party and that made it more difficult to put our name into the machine. We ended up having to split our group into two smaller ones so that we could get a better time to return. We decide to take a break and look around the casino before we have to return. It only gets worse from here.
We arrive at our scheduled time and we are put back into a line to wait to enter the buffet. It took us over an hour and a half to get through this line to get seated for the buffet. To me this is ridiculous. To tell someone to return at a specific time to be seated for a buffet and then have to wait an atrocious amount of time to get there, it's awful. Now you would think our experience would be better once we got in, but you'd be wrong.
Once we finally get seated, we were starving and looking forward to getting our food. But what we found was very lackluster. The crab section was barren and a lot of it was still frozen. The selection of food was terrible, as we missed out on a lot of stuff because they didn't restock the buffet appropriately. Then we were told when we were only about 45 minutes into our eating experience, that they were stopping restock of food in 15 minutes, when we were told that we were given a 2 hour window to eat at the buffet. That's atrocious. To be told that you only have 15 minutes before they stop restocking the buffet is beyond stupid. The food that we even ate wasn't that amazing and for the cost of the buffet, I feel very cheated.
There was nothing good about this experience at Caesar's Bacchanal Buffet. I did write another review for them and they offered me VIP service and buy one get one free the next time I went there, but that doesn't entice me at all. They shouldn't just focus on VIPs and giving them a great experience and should make sure that every diner is able to get a quality meal and enjoy what they eat and feel like they got what they paid for.
